SC Gun Law News
McDonald v. City of Chicago Once again the Supreme Court has made the right call on a major gun rights case by a one-vote margin. In a 5-4 decision, the Court ruled that the Second Amendment applies not just to Washington, D.C. and other federal enclaves, but protects the rights of all Americans throughout the country.
We will not discuss the specifics of this decision because there is ample analysis available at places like the NRA-ILA website: www.nraila.org. You can also read the opinion yourself at: http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/slipopinions.aspx. We are just happy to get you the news if you haven’t heard already.
It’s important to note that this razor-close decision was only possible because of the current make-up of the Court. Ironically, the Senate is currently debating the confirmation of a Supreme Court justice who was nominated by the current President. Will the Senate confirm that nominee? What is that nominee’s political philosophy? How will that nominee make decisions if ultimately put on the Court?
Elections have consequences . . . and so do our actions. Please continue to stay legal and do all that you can to insure that we enjoy the full measure of our natural right to keep and bear arms.
